Project Background The idea for a medical clinic for Kédougou came from Dr Kikala Diallo and his wife Catherine Flasse, belgian farmacist. The project is implemented by the Senegalese association SolSan CFK, itself supported by several European humanitarian associations. During a visit to the family of Dr Diallo, in Kédougou, Catherine was chocked by the local sanitary conditions. The idea for the creation of a sanitary structure was born from their thinking on the possibilities to mitigate the sanitary difficulties faced by the local population. In addition, Catherine had wanted to start studying local medicinal plants in collaboration with traditional healers. Her illness and her death did not allow her to see the realisation of her wishes. However, the idea for the sanitary structure has progressed since, and thanks to the support of various institutions and individuals from Senegal as well as from Europe (French, Belgian...) and from international associations, the building for the clinic is now complete.
